    Great product. I installed a a modified Z-Wave water sensor to provide remote indication of an alarm condition. I removed the water sensor wiring and replaced it with wires connected to the alarm dry contact. My E/One panel now has an audible alarm in my home and a text to my mobile devices. This is made possible with a Hubitat hub. The EcolinkZ-Wave Plus Flood sensor has screw terminals for the wiring internally making soldering unnecessary.

      @@CharlesAlvis That device did not hold up to cold weather. I ended up using YoLink instead. They make an outdoor contact sensor that works well in cold temperatures. The sensor is YS7707-UC. I cut the wire going to the switch from the transmitter and connected the wires to the alarm contact in the E/One Alarm Panel. The YoLink hub is in my home and connects over the internet to my Hubitat Hub. YoLink uses LoRa for device communication. Their range is much greater than Z-Wave and Zigbee.

    I used to rebuild/repair the E/One grinder pumps.....they are an awesome machine but are at the mercy of the customers and how they manage "what" they flush down to the pump. Typically the "stator" needs replaced when customers flush anything and everything....it's takes a disciplined customer base to keep replacement costs down.

      @EONESewerSystems 2 года назад

      • If it’s a 240v pump, a 240V generator must be rated to start a 6500-watt load minimum. • Never use an undersized generator; it will likely cause damage to the generator, pump and/or alarm panel. • Allow the generator’s motor to warm up completely before supplying power to the grinder pump station • Before connecting to the grinder pump station, measure that the voltage the generator is putting out unloaded. It should be 235 to 250 volts. • When the grinder pump starts, it will need approximately 6500 watts for up to ¼ of a second at 240 volts. • Once the grinder pump motor is running, the wattage will drop to between 500 and 1200 watts depending on the pressure sewer system’s pressure. **Note: E/One does not recommend using any type of “Auto-Idle” feature (if your generator is so equipped).

    Are you saying that it only cost $5.00 per year to run grinder pump? I think you are way off. I think that at .11 cents per kWh it is going to cost at least $20.00 per yr. When the pump is running it uses 6.1 Amps - 240 volts - 1464 watts. On average the pump would run for 20 minutes per day. If my math is correct, that would be 175 kWh per year.

    • @EONESewerSystems
      @EONESewerSystems 2 года назад

      Hi Mike, Thank you for your inquiry. The power consumption of E/One Grinder pumps is typically quite low, but it is dependent on how long it runs and what pressure it runs at. Below is an equation that can help you estimate the power consumption, keep in mind that we are talking about estimates and typical data. This information can vary based on the quality of the power and the individual site conditions. It is from page 7 of the “E/One Low Pressure Sewer Systems Design Manual” eone.com/images/files/lpsdesign.pdf The following shows the typical KWHR per month for a home using at 250 Gallons Per Day (GPD). Using 7.76 KWHR/month would be 93.12 KWHR per year. At $ .11 per KWHR, that would be $10.24 (if the system pressure is lower or if the daily flow is less, the cost estimate will be lower) If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to contact Derek Lachut at dlachut@eone.com

    Can a 220v system run on 110v if there is a power outage and I'd have to run a generator?

    • @EONESewerSystems
      @EONESewerSystems 2 года назад

      Unfortunately, no. A 220V system is not capable of running on 110V. The motor and internal controls utilize (and are wired to accept) only components rated for 220V. Due to this, your option would be to upgrade your generator to 220/240V service. The link below will provide you with Environment One’s generator requirements: eone.com/images/downloads/distributor_connection/field-service/SB21_Generators.pdf Please don’t hesitate to reach back out if you have additional questions. The originals had a five year warranty. If they lasted that long. Most in my neighborhood did not. But at five years and a day you better have $5000 ready to hand over to this racket. Monthly sewage bill went from $45 to $58 a month. The electric went up as well.Something that was absolutely unwanted, unwarranted, and unneeded. Public contract done by crooks!! Hi, I could not find any information about what volume of fluid these can hold on your site or what happens when that maximum amount is exceeded during a power outage. This video called this model a "70 gallon". Is 70 gallons the maximum capacity? If toilets\showers are used during an outage and the maximum capacity is exceeded, what happens? Assuming proper height placement of the unit, will fluid overflow out of the tank through the vent tube or in some other manner into the yard out the top? Will it overflow back into and fill up the upper dry portion of the tank? The lid appears to be tightly sealed so could overflow beyond the max limit not escape? Will the pump be completely submerged in fluid when the maximum level is exceeded and if so, will this cause the pump internals and electrical system to be damaged and\or fail? Our neighborhood has many questions like this after our recent power outage so if you are able to provide a detailed response to me here or via email, (nbstl68@gmail.com) it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

    • @EONESewerSystems
      @EONESewerSystems 2 года назад

      Hi @nbtstl68 - thanks for contacting us. Correct, the DH071 has a maximum tank capacity of 70 gallons. During a power outage, if you don't have a generator to pump down the station, we recommend limiting water usage to prevent wastewater from backing up into your home or overflowing into the yard. We will follow up with additional detail via email. Also visit eone.com/sewers -> Knowledge Center -> Frequently Asked Questions for more info.

      Hi Barbara, Can you send a photo to eone@eone.com for me? Also, do you know what size tank or model station you have? Odors could develop depending on your water usage -- if you aren't using a lot of water, the pump isn't turning on frequently, therefore the water in the tank sits and can develop odors. You could fill up and empty the bath tub to get fresh water through the tank. Also, if the tank was oversized and the pump isn't turning on as frequently as we like it to, the water can get stagnant and odor can develop.

      Hi Barbara, The grinder pump station should not emit any odors. The pump turns on/off several times daily (depending on your water usage), so the contents are always "fresh." Wastewater that sits for a long period develops odors. If you were leaving your house for a few days/weeks, E/One recommends running clean water (fill & empty the bathtub) through the system to flush out wastewater. Please email me at eone@eone.com if I can answer any more questions. - thanks, Sharon

      Well, it does leak odors. It will over flow on the ground as well. When it fails. The double pole beaker strips, no alarm. Out of 24 houses on my road. 24 have failed in 9 yrs. Some are on their third pump. No place to get replacement. No temporary till repair. Not easy to repair, and not easy to find someone to repair. A disaster waiting to happen.

    These pumps are NOT reliable at all!! We have been in our "new" house for 10 years and have at least 3, maybe 4 in that time. And as of today, the alarm is going off again! Ridiculous!!!

      Hello - Please contact us at eone@eone.com with more information. The average mean time between service calls for an E/One pump is 8-10 years. Most problems can be attributed to improper installation or system abuse. Have you spoken with your local distributor to assess these problems?

      @@EONESewerSystems Yes. I spoke to several people about e-Ones. They all agree that they will NEVER last as long as good pump. I've put sewer pumps years ago, Liberty, Zoeller, just to name a few, and they are still working fine. And a lot of them are over 30 years old. 8-10 years is not a long time for an expensive piece of equipment. Especially when it started going bad after two years.

      @@akrocuba Did you speak to E/One or an E/One distributor? If you're having problems with the pump after 2 years, there is likely an underlying issue.

      @@EONESewerSystems Nope. No underlying issue. We just replaced about 5 years ago. I've heard nothing good about these things and I am completely pissed off. Companies that are certified that I spoke told me the same thing. I'm replacing it with a standard grinder pump. Companies really should take more pride in their products. But, I guess it's all about just selling the product to municipalities and getting the big sale and then leaving them stuck with the problems.

      @@akrocuba E/One does take pride in its products & we have many satisfied customers. I asked that you email me more info so I could help and/or get you in touch with someone to better diagnose your situation. E/One pumps have an average mean time between service calls for 8-10 years. If a repair is needed before that time, we need to investigate. Additionally, E/One pumps are designed to be repaired & not simply replaced -- multiple complete replacements indicates a bigger issue. I'm sorry you're unhappy with your E/One experience, but we can't help without more information.

      Hi Shon, As we note at the beginning of the video, all installation steps should be performed in accordance with local codes. Different municipalities may have different/additional requirements for grinder pump installations.
